TEACHER BIOGRAPHIES

Geshe Jamyang Chozin Rinpoche was born in Tibet in 1967.  He became a novice monk at the age of 14 at his birthplace in western Tibet. At age 18 Jamyang Chozin Rinpoche escaped to India and subsequently took the full Bhiksu ordination when he was 19 years old. Geshe Jamyang Chozin Rinpoche is a highly qualified teacher whose training has met the highest level of standards possible at Gaden Jangtse Monastic University. He was awarded the degree of Lharampa Geshe by Gaden Jangtse Monastery. He then took his tantric training at Guymed Tantric College and obtained the degree of Ngarampa Geshe from there. Jamyang Chozin is not only a monk with high scholastic achievement on his own merit, but a few years after he came to India he was also identified as the reincarnation of a past Tibetan Abbot, Kalsang Gyatso, thus his title of Rinpoche.

Venerable Thupten Jangchu has completed his monastic degree at Gaden Jangtse Monastery, and has served as Khensur Rinpoche’s personal assistant since 2001.  He taught Tibetan language and Buddhist classes to foreign monks and nuns who entered the monastery and nunnery to pursue their studies there.  Venerable Jangchu has exerted many qualities of a good teacher as he is very kind, has lot of patient to everyone, and is also extremely humble.

Nima Nedup has been our center's English translator since 2003.  He is the main translator for Khensur Rinpoche and has toured with many monks of Gaden Jangtse Monastery over the past 7 years. He is not only an experienced Tibetan-English translator but also a excellent ritual chanting master.
